Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

Another aggressive crazy game against SF with multiple pawn sacrifices as usual. Her games are always exciting as she play unexpected /different style than AB engines. With her aggressive attack, both kings are dancing around the board. [Event "CCCC 1: Rapid Rumble (15|5) Stage 2"] [Site "Chess.com"...

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

So far, she is the one that can positionally outplay Stockfish and almost got the chance to win vs SF. Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

Disallowing update between stages will just show a similar result from stage 1. Not exactly similar. She will definately get better due to 1. Ponder off (Pondering On hit her Time Management algorithm and her TM was terrible with in stage 1. I guess she is one that suffer most with Ponder ON) 2. Sh...

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

Lc0 now has a training run using tablebase rescoring for training, rather soon we should be able to see improvements in endgame play from this. And you still keep "0" in the name, what a joke... Yes. They do that, to annoy you. And it's good. :D But that's a side experiment, right?? The main nets b...

Re: Leela (lack of) endgame technique?

Hi all, What's up with leela's seemingly inability to win endgames? At CCCC it outplayed komodo in the middle game but didn't manage to convert what K evaluated as "clear win". I know NN have trouble selecting moves when many lines seem to win, but it should at least choose actually winning moves :...

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

Chess.com is a for-profit enterprise. These 100+ people do not work for free. Chess.com is running this tournament because they believe it will have a positive return on investment by attracting eyeballs that will become paying customers. This is not a "friendly and free chess tournament". This is ...

Re: Stockfish bug in 50 moves rule found (or arena bug)

Never mind! Last capture was 53. So I think 50 move rule is at 103. The position is a loss for white but draw by 50 moves rule.

This game was played Xipho vs Lco in cccc and I analysed with 10/09/2018 stockfish without TB. At move 98. Xipho played Be4+ and lose. I analysed 98. Bd7 line and SF see draw at move 103. Bd1 50 move rules. 0.00 evaluation . In fact it is loss. [Event "CCCC 1: Rapid Rumble (15|5) Stage 1"] [Site "Ch...
