Re: Black moves first ...
Actually black moves first is being seen as an anti-racist idea, based on the assumption chess promotes white privilege (white moves first). Nutty if you ask me... I agree. This idea comes from leftists. They also do not like chess problems because "White to play and mate in N moves". Stupidity is ...

Karpov-Korchnoi 1978, video request
Hello,
Word chess championship between Karpov and Kortchnoi at Bagio City in 1978, game 8.
I'm looking for the video showing Karpov's arrival, Korchnoi standing up and giving his hand, and Karpov refusing to shake hands. I saw this video some years ago on the net but can't retrieve it.
Thanks.

Re: Banksia GUI released
Thank you for answering but qt5-default is already the most recent version (5.9.5+dfsg-0ubuntu2.4).
Edit : I used a live usb and installed qt5. On a fresh install banksia is running smoothly. My PC is slowing QT somewhere.

Re: Arena 3.9 beta for Linux
... Of course i send a mail to Martin Blume about this issue, but get no reply. Best Gerhard sorry I was wrong, Martin answered - but his mail was stored in a spam-folder, I recognize it today the first time. He is on a hard way to solve this silly issue with Arena Gui 4 Linux and Debian 10. He is ...

qt client leader window
Xubuntu 18.04 - 4 Cores When I launch Banksia GUI and click to make a move I have to wait about 4 minutes for the GUI to unfreeze. A process called "qt client leader window" runs at full speed on one core. After these freezing minutes, I can play at normal speed. Note this only happens once when the...

Re: Arena 3.9 beta for Linux
Maybe this is a bug about tournament.
I have a set of 12 EPD positions, each engine must play with white and black so this makes 24 games.
The problem is that after playing 2 games with the first position, it never goes to the next position, whatever the settings are.
