Re: Scandinavian Defense (3...Qd6)

Tiviakov says (in a chessbase video) that the Qd6 variation is dead.
Of course not in blitz, Carlsen would say...

Re: What are your Favorite Chess GUI's And Why..

I've used all of them, but my everyday GUI is Fritz(16)/Chessbase(12).

Second, Arena.

Third... Aquarium (to analyse)(but there are many bugs) . Fourth, Shredder, but I think I should use it more, it only doesn't work very well with my DGT board.

Re: Engine's "ELO" revisited

Stockfish10 at full strenght has no way to get 4000 elo in a human list. Even if you beat Carlsen 999.5:0.5 you do not get performance of 4000 elo. based on the following site even if carlsen has rating of 2900 and carlsen's rating is lower he is expected to do clearly worse than it. https://wismut...

Re: Engine's "ELO" revisited

I thought you were interested in a list with fitting opponents for you to play against? It seems I wasted my time to give you such a list. It is completely different at Carlsens or Nakamuras level and also at the low end, but I am really not interested in discussing this...and there will be no gene...

Re: Engine's "ELO" revisited

Note that the rating for those prgrams could well be 100+ compared to Humans. (It is based on GURL2/3 or CCRL) Those are exactly the questions ! Ratings of engines x ELO "human" ratings, how they correlate ? Magnus Carlsen's ELO is =~ 2850 . Stockfish would be 3400 ? Based on what ? Would that rati...

Re: Engine's "ELO" revisited

If you give a try to Minic level function from 1 to 100, I d be glad to have feedback. How strong is it at 50% ? [Event "Blitz 3 min+ 2 sec/move"] [Site "Ryzen 1800x"] [Date "2019.12.23"] [Round "1"] [White "Ponti,A."] [Black "Minic 1.20 (C) @50%"] [Result "1-0"] [BlackElo "?"] [ECO "B15"] [Opening...

Re: Engine's "ELO" revisited

Try any of these XBoard/UCI engines: These should remain bad even at fastest CPU. Start from bottom for weakest. I got trouble in getting the binaries for a lot of them, good luck. 1: Fimbulwinter 5.02 2: DarkFusch 0.09 3: Qutechess 1.01t rev3 ja 4: Pierre 1.7 ja 5: Kace 0.82 ja 6: Raffaela 0.14 7:...
