Re: Fritz 17

My computer is 9 years old yet I don't see the need for anything faster, Yes, my newest PC is an AMD FX8350 and unbelievably that was released 7 years ago. I have no need whatsoever to replace it, it does everything I need. Yes I've added an SSD which made a huge difference, other than that a coupl...

Re: There are NOT any Books on FRC Opening.............

An opening book for chess960 is the antithesis of everything chess960 is about. I hope never to see one.

Re: Finally TCEC is matching FRChess960 Engines......

Alliestein is doing very good without having any NET training of the 960 FRC positions as far as I know and against the all mighty Stockfish the King of FRC Chess960  https://tcec-chess.com/ I think it might be up to 100 Elo weaker at FRC without having the special training and net. But at le...

Most of the important programs are missing such as Cfish, CorChess, Brainfish, the newest asmfishCP and so on.
I would say they are irrelevant. Simply a waste of CPU resource. I'm with Jouni on this.

But I wonder why Alliestein is NOT playing ? https://tcec-chess.com/
Yes - that is a bad omission. Yes it plays up to 100 Elo weaker I'd estimate through not being trained on chess960 games, but still it was worth including.

Re: Fritz 17

Also, it could be worth noting that Ginkgo had been listed on CCRl 40/40 as a private engine, but then it was pulled from the list just around the same time as the Fritz 17 discussion first sprang up. :) I don't know why that was, I wouldn't read anything into it. Graham asked for it to be removed ...

Re: Finally TCEC is matching FRChess960 Engines......

TCEC has played a chess960 tournament before. The audience numbers did not meet their expectations, so they dropped it.

Well - Stockfish is number 1 on both the FRC list and the 404 list. You don't need to look very hard at all to see that.

On the 4040 list you'll see them all on the Complete list

Re: Vajolet2 2.8 release

For info, the standard x64 exe does not work on a Phenom II X6 sorry to hear that those are the requirements for vajolet executable: standard: sse4.2 64 bit popcnt old: sse3 64 bit bmi: sse4.2, 64 bit, bmi, bmi2, popcnt OK then that does explain - the Phenom II X6 does support popcnt but not SSE4.2...
