Re: Previous amazing Alpha Zero position is not amazing anymore!

Again, Losers Whiners. Nor was AlphaZero using an Opening Book or Tablebases. As for quibbles like Time Control Tuning and latest Dev Version, you would do well to keep in mind that A lphaZero was given just 4 Hours Training before the Match and before 4 Hours didn't even know the chess moves ! Anyw...

Re: Previous amazing Alpha Zero position is not amazing anymore!

They just announced a book with 2000 extra games to be published by New In Chess.

You can go buy it and gasp at the games then.
Really ? I certainly will.
Link please.
what timecontrols or hashtables are
As far as I know, both Stockfish and AlphaZero had 1 minute for each move.
Losers whiners.

Re: Previous amazing Alpha Zero position is not amazing anymore!

You need to calm down a bit. They released 10 pgns played by a poorly configured Stockfish on mostly unknown hardware vs AlphaZero on mostly unknown hardware. Again, they only released 10 handpicked pgns. You can choose to carried away be the hype, or choose to accept that not many conclusions can ...

Re: Previous amazing Alpha Zero position is not amazing anymore!

And what makes you think, A0 could find (or could have found, I doubt it exists anymore) all tactical difficult best moves, that SF finds immediately, at all or at least in a reasonable time The FACT that AlphaZero WIPED the floor with Stockfish; not just beat Stockfish, but HUMILIATED Stockfish. I...

Re: Previous amazing Alpha Zero position is not amazing anymore!

A tactically well tuned komodo- setting plays Bg5 almost at once, so does some tactical code in CFish from Immortal Forum's "RomeoA23". Houdini Tactical takes a few minutes. All this has been done before. Every Tom, Dick and Harry Engine claims to find some brilliant move or the other that AlphaZer...

Re: Komodo MCTS scales worse with TC than Komodo A/B?

First, I checked that K12.2 AB and K12.2 MCTS behave very similarly in all sorts of variants and phases of the game, so Leela weird behavior in variants and endgames (weaker than regular chess performance) is due mostly to its eval and not to its MCTS search. K MCTS is simply about 100-150 Elo poin...

Re: Great improvement in fast games in lc0 0.19rc2 version

When lc0 starts beating latest Stockfish comprehensively, like AlphZero did, let me know.
Till then I'm done with computer chess using alpha-beta engines.

Re: Big pause for Houdini ?

Maybe so, but I have a hunch that Houdart will be the first to give us a Commercial chess engine which which really uses AI and the power of the GPU, unlike the pseudo-AI using Komodo.

Re: In anticipation of my RTX 2070 GPU :)

Then take it as a rumor. -- Srdja LOL, good reply to that eternal Killjoy. Anyway, from what I saw earlier Lc0 seems to like nvidia much better than AMD, so it doesn't really matter what AMD does. But of course, any rapid progress by AMD and nVidia will be forced to up their game, so all the better...

Re: In anticipation of my RTX 2070 GPU :)

I will watch your Test Results with the RTX 2070 with interest, Mr Laskos.
The day Lc0 starts beating the mickey out of Stockfish ( as AlphaZero did so memorably) using the 2070, I'll go out and grab myself a 2070 Ti, price be damned !
