Re: CTF Survey

I don't give a damn, really. I don't read that forum because I think it's toxic. But it's been there forever so I say leave it alone or go option 3. I'll say this, though: A so-called "Chess Thinkers Forum" seems to me an incongruous adjunct to a site devoted to an arcane hobby. I remember Steve Sch...

Stockfish nnue has a secret weapon. The Kamehameha blast. Of course, he has to go to level 5 before he can use it. You don't just go Kamehameha blasting stuff willy-nilly.

Re: Sargon 1978 UCI Available

Bill Forster, author of the Tarrasch GUI, has released a UCI version of Sargon, the well known program from the Spracklens. I had a copy of Sargon in the early 80's running on my Commodore VIC-20, using a black and white television for a monitor! It was my first chess software that wasn't in a dedi...

Re: Sargon 1978 UCI Available

I should add that I've tested the program, it runs fine and searches about 8 ply on my modest laptop at fast time controls. It will beat you if you don't pay attention. It beats me even when I do.

The match is not part of a show on chess.com, but I expect to comment live during the games.
This means the match can be followed at the Komodo website?

Re: Komodo MCTS

I've been reluctant to post in threads about Leela or Komodo MCTS because, frankly, I don't have a good conceptual understanding of how these engines work. I hate to publicly display my limitations, but here goes... Last night, just for kicks, I watched Komodo 13.02 MCTS play a series of games again...
