Re: new versions of wine

Sounds like wine 3.6 is not redirecting Houdini's stdout to its own stdout - maybe it goes to stderr. What happens if you create a shell script for running Houdini and use that in cutechess, eg:

houdini.sh:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/bash
wine houdini.exe

Re: cutechess gui build

Thanks a lot tpoppins for providing these development snapshots. We're having the annual cutechess hackathon next week and will make an official release of both cli and gui then.

Re: Why PVs aren't displayed -- Robert Hourdart in TCEC chat

Hopefully at some point we'll get the feature set that TCEC needs in mainline cutechess. Currently they're using this fork (which has some pretty impressive features) which is 534 commits behind mainline and it's almost pointless to try to debug it: https://github.com/jeremybernstein/cutechess If th...

Re: Cutechess-cli Time Control: Me or Bug

I can see both sides of the issue and my original intention was to make the behaviour configurable. But then I received a pull request that implemented the change and as a result Cute Chess no longer adds time increment for book moves. It seems to be the behaviour that most users want. But then aga...

Re: Cutechess-cli Time Control: Me or Bug

That seems a bug. Care to elaborate why it seems a bug? I can see both sides of the issue and my original intention was to make the behaviour configurable. Re: Cute Chess 1.0.0 released

I just wanted to mention two problems I have with the latest version of cutechess. 1) I was excited to try out the new user adjucation but unfortunately the tournament hangs after hitting the button.(archlinux gcc-7, with qt-5.9.1) 2) Cutechess outputs a high score everytime it displays a new searc...

Re: Cute Chess 1.0.0 released

The only thing I would like to see implemented is the possibility to stop a test session (thousands of games) and resume it when I want. Do you think to add this feature in the future? +1 Great GUI, but this is a must. Sometimes, you need to turn off the PC or use it for other things and you can't ...

Re: Cute Chess 1.0.0 released

Do you know what would be cool? If there was a team-created GUI as their is a team-created Stockfish. How good could a GUI become with a dedicated, worldwide team contributing? Would be awesome. Actually this is what XBoard has been for nearly 3 decades. The problem is that the current team is just...

Re: Cute Chess 1.0.0 released

Instead of doing a completely new client+server implementation, can you make your GUI compatible with Norman Schmidt's new CCCC, http://www.chesslogik.com/cccc , by any chance? Let me humbly request support for tournament broadcasting to the Web to make the tournaments viewable from the PC and mobi...
