Leela (lack of) endgame technique?

Hi all, What's up with leela's seemingly inability to win endgames? At CCCC it outplayed komodo in the middle game but didn't manage to convert what K evaluated as "clear win". I know NN have trouble selecting moves when many lines seem to win, but it should at least choose actually winning moves :)...

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

what's up with all this negativity? CCCC is a free event, high graphical quality, great hardware, and lots of fun to watch.

At pure one minute Komodo would just win a lot of lost positions on time, but at 1' + 1" knight odds would probably be a fair match and not be decided by time forfeits. I suppose we'll try it at some point I've seen a live stream of Wesley S...

Re: CCCC is running

Disagree. From division 1 upwards it's quite the LTC.

Below it's more like rapid chess, but let's get real.. div1+ games is what people want to see.

Re: CCCC is running

not obsolete: TCEC runs almost 24/7 :D CCCC (4C) does have live chat as well, which is like 95% of the fun 8-) and yes, 4C uses pondering ON and live pv. New TCEC beta site has live pv from stockfish (running on remote server) and is working on live pv from engines as well. hopefully TCEC beta can a...

Re: Analysis help for those with the processing power

(...) I noticed that many times Stockfish weakens his own kingside which is not good. King safety is important and Stockfish doesn't know that. what are you talkin' about..??? one thing we learned from computer chess is king safety only matters when the opponent can expoit it. you can, and should, ...

This lack of proof frustrates me tremendously. Hard to accept that lazy smp works. :D
