Re: Fat Fritz destroyed Stockfish!

Surely a nonsense title, but still its performance in this match was spectacular. :D Of course too few games to conclude anything about their strength, but still Fat Fritz seems extremely strong! Conditions: Time control 1 minute + 1 second/move . TCEC's Season 16 superfinal openings (50 so 100 gam...

Re: benchmark new smartphones:

Thank you very much for sharing your results.

If compared to an iPhone Xs measured at 5'119 kn/s this is over 20% improvement. Not bad at all!

Re: benchmark new smartphones:

To me chess studio seems to run at full speed.
On my iPad Pro 11 inches, I start at close to 9’000 kn/s to drop a bit later when heat comes into play. But that is pretty amazing

Oh... and yes kn/s is maybe also something I would like to see in Analyse this app.

Re: benchmark new smartphones:

Well, there are very good chess apps on iOS that uses SF10.... These are : * Analyze This * Chess Studio The "only" thing missing to Analyze This for me is an integrated opening book as referance. The "only" thing missing to Chess Studio for me is that when you "quit" the app and toy around into oth...

Re: Lc0 with latest test30 nets is vastly superior positionally

This doesn't surprise me although its good to have some data showing it. As you said, its tactically that Lc0 has some weakness which gives it a little human like behaviour where it can loose in 25 moves tactical combination to SF dev and the following game show a positionnal master piece vs SF dev....

Re: Building a new super fast computer

I guess currently what makes the more sense for a high end NN system is a 2x2080Ti. You could go with 2xTitan RTX but honestly to gain less than 25% but pay 2x the price doesn't make any sense to me. Also what I am currently not sure is how much does Lc0 really benefit from i.e. 2x2080Ti instead of ...

Not sure about your GPU but if of any help of comparison I get about 36 kn/s on a 2080ti which is the latest monster available....

Re: Stockfish for ios

I was wondering exactly the same yesterday night about analyse this!?? For me, analyse this is good as one can generate sub lines when analyzing but it’s unclear how many cores are used, and what speed it goes? I also really hope we can have a iOS Stockfish 9 engine that uses all power of the iPad P...

Re: Stockfish 9 on iOS ?

Thanks, this is exactly what I wanted ! I wonder how fast/strong it will be on the iPad Pro 11 !? SF 9 on the new iPad Pro will be *far* stronger than any human on the planet, that's for sure. Here are some comparisons of the A12X cpu to other commonly used CPUs: https://bgr.com/2018/11/01/new-ipad...
