Re: Stockfish 9
This thread is a clear demonstration that ppl like to troll from time to time, especially when there is a master troll giving them a perfect excuse . Trolls are in a fairy tale. Please do not write more that it trolls, because you miss the truth. Do you think that there is any truth in the idi...

Re: Android chess program - Info needed.
You can use Droidfish . It's not possible to set up asynchronous time controls, but you won't lose if you time runs out (you time will go negative instead). Thank you for that - I had downloaded Droidfish before posting and was very impressed. However, I didn't realise that the program would contin...

Android chess program - Info needed.
Can anyone recommend an Android chess playing app in which it is possible to play against a resident engine using a short time control for the engine and a far longer time control for the human? Once the engine has made its move I want to copy it onto a pocket chess set and move at my own speed.

Re: How do I change the name of the engine.
How do I change the name of the engine in Fritz. For example, I want to change the name Critter_1.6a_64 bit on Critter 1.6a x64 during installation in program Fritz. In the past, I have used a hex editor for this sort of thing. You can download freeware hex editors from the internet. Open the execu...

Re: [OT] CTF elections
If you ever felt like going to CTF but found the place repulsive, your best chances are with: Thorsten Czub, Daniel Shawul, Henk Van Den Belt (alt - Aleks Peshkov) This I say because the current moderation (our opponents) have been there so you get what you used to get. If you want change, vote for...

<snip> I do not know of a convenient way to convert .cbv files to .pgn files in Mint</snip> This thread mentions a cbh to pgn command line tool. http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1314563940 Thank you for that suggestion. It looks like the file mentioned, pgn-extract-17-14.exe, “is d...
