Re: New Version of Stockfish MateFinder
This update brings MateFinder into sync with the SF lazySMP patch (10-20-2015). There is also one new feature: Study Mode. Study is a simple UCI bool that one can toggle for particularly difficult problems. It defaults to off as it will lower the playing strength quite a bit, but it is excellent fo...

A shy Kasparov gives an interview to a beautiful lady, 1992
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZNNR6lJTl0 Kasparov, who is known globally to become replete with utter contempt and inextinguishable confidence on the chessboard, falls to being nervous when being interviewed by quite a beautiful Argentinian lady in 1992, however...who wouldn't? (The interview sta...

Re: lazy smp questions
I've got some lazy SMP working, and it gives me this kind of repeated and shuffled output (eg. with 8 threads): info depth 1 score 21 nodes 102 pv g8f7 info depth 1 score 21 nodes 218 pv g8f7 info depth 1 score 21 nodes 323 pv g8f7 info depth 1 score 21 nodes 1211 pv g8f7 info depth 1 score 21 node...

For the very first time in my life, Marek, I agree with you.Marek Soszynski wrote:A Linux version would be good, or at least an exe that will run via Wine.

Re: Next Handicap Match
Not wanting to open a new thread and being related to the topic (testing these handicaps), I got something messed up with Komodo 9.2. It seems that Komodo is as random on 1 core as it is on 2 or 4 cores. I used Adam Hair modification of Don's similarity tester, where Adam set the tool to send "ucin...

Re: Any GUI that can handle this? Hexagon chess board
Hexagonal chess was rather popular in Eastern Europe before. I find this in my father legacy: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gbtami/gbtami.github.io/master/images/IMG_20150822_193504.jpg https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gbtami/gbtami.github.io/master/images/IMG_20150822_193710.jpg And some coll...

Re: Komodo 9.2
Hi Larry, Could you estimate the gain from 9.1 to 9.2 without the contempt? I'm interested in what the gain will be purely for analysis at 10 min per move on a single core. (and also on 24 cores SMP at 30 min / move). Sorry, I know that's a big ask! Carl I think that for blitz chess without using c...

Stockfish's Immortal
Lacino was a private tournament held on two large servers of a hosting company, the tournament was organized and administered by it's chess-admiring employee. The machines used, therefore, were not his. One might postulate that this was an illegal tournament, that it's games have no right to be publ...

Re: Komodo 9 update (9.01)
I am very well aware of that, but having a Linux executable makes everything much more convenient. Besides, loading it up with wine takes slightly more time, while if there was a 32bit Linux executable, it would load up instantly upon execution.
