Re: best server for computers to play variants currently?

The problem with S-Chess for lichess is not the lack of popularity, but that it uses fairy pieces and gating of pieces which both do not exist on lichess yet, so it would perhaps require more work than other lichess variants. I think in hindsight they would not add racing kings again, but it can no...

Re: best server for computers to play variants currently?

Racing Kings is arguable the most bizzare variant available. I don't understand why they didn't implement S-Chess instead (Sharper-Chess) as it is 8x8 based. One guy said to me that it will be hyped at first then die off. But that is just speculation. We don't know how S-Chess will fare on a popular...

Crazyhouse is on par 960 and those are the most popular variants. 960 has growed considerable the last half a year because of recent events. ...

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

Engines need to know that they're playing armageddon. So they need to be taught playing that mode.

Re: AlphaZero No Castling Chess

Removing the rook-pawn provide some counter-compensation in forms of semi-open file.
I do think it's better to tradeoff armageddon with no castling privileges for the side with draw odds.

Re: Blackmageddon Openings released

Removing the a2 pawn is hardly considered odds for normal engine games. I don't know if armageddon/blackmageddon change this situation.

Blog of the month - The Active King

Definitely worth a read.

「 In minor piece endgames, the King is generally reckoned to be considered the strongest piece on the board. 」

Lc0 defeats SF in a position where SF think it stand better.

Looks like Lyudmil Tsvetkov was right. He shared this FEN couple of years ago, claiming white was winning. rk1r4/1b1p2pp/p1pPpp2/Pp2P2q/1P1P1P2/3BBN2/5RPP/R5K1 w - - 0 24 [Event "i7-5960X 4.5GHz"] [Site "i7-5960X 4.5GHz"] [Date "2019.12.03"] [Round "?"] [White "lc0"] [Black "stockfish_19120300_x64_b...

Re: The optimalized Fat Fritz

Fat Fritz is said to get new weight_file soon.

Anyway do you guys urge me to buy another RTX 2080 Super for 2x 2080 Super OC in NVlink.

2x 2080 Super OC (Asus) is said be about equivalent to one and a half 2080 Ti in performance.
