Re: Unbalanced Human Openings released

I released my Unbalanced Human Openings. Unbalanced Human Openings contain: - 100% moves played by humans, only. Both players had at least 2300 Elo. Out of the Megabase 2020 - no manually constructed openings (like my Drawkiller openings) - no manually added moves to make castling impossible (like ...

Re: What in the world can that be?!

Too much relying on computers to think for you and not enough logical, actual CHESS thinking. Black has played ...c6 instead of the usual ...g6 , but the only benefit I can think of for this move-order would be to give black the option of switching to a Stonewall Dutch via a ...d5 and ...e6 move ord...

Re: Polish users cut off from TalkChess

Most of the time I cannot log in through my VPN. This is a rare moment when I can. And I am going to use it to write that as long as this situation persists, I will not post on this forum. My lifelong habit was to avoid discriminatory environments, and TalkChess became one of them. I will never acc...

Re: Is there a trick to run engine in MV mode in Chessbase GUI?

I mean automatically and always. I haven't found any so far. If I insert MultiPV= 3 to *****.uci file no effect. The GUI is not using that parameter at all? I'm pretty sure this is handled by the GUI and not the engine. And obviously only works with engines that have MultiPV capability. Which engin...

Re: Mayhem NNUE - New NN engine

This proves that handcrafted evaluations are all crap. This will cause enough heads here to shake that it'll cause an earthquake. Maybe a better way to express yourself is "this proves that copy and pasting Stockfish's evaluation into other engines is superior to using your own". Something we...

. For self playing I am using M(T)D AnMon or Wasp. I found out that Benjamin comes from Ed Schröder and wrote ... yes, a program from Ed can't be bad. So Benjamin seems to be good known for grandmasters.

:-)
What means M(T)D ??
Most of the days?

Re: Benjamin 2.0 - Tactical Analysis Engine

Very interesting. GMs are *finally* catching on to the idea of training against weak (but human-like) engines. I love it. For me, Benjamin is cool, but as far as Ed's work goes, my favs will always be ProDeo with ALEXAL, MACHEID or Storm personalities! :) The MACHEID (whatever that name means!) per...

Re: Benjamin 2.0 - Tactical Analysis Engine

Hi Brendan, GM knows the own weaknesses. In most of cases the endgame. The 16 World Champions we have ... Most of the people are World Champion because they can play a better endgame as the others in the time they life. So GMs are searching for a very strong opening phase, good middlegame and weakn...

Re: Benjamin 2.0 - Tactical Analysis Engine

Small story: For a while I had a dicussion in a private chat about such programs for self playing with ... (can't give the name). A weak later with a second GM about the same topic. Both asked for a strong aggressive chess programs with max. 2.600 Elo. Of course, Wasp on DGT Pi (strenght can be adj...
