Re: Et Mortuus Est Rex

EDIT: More relevant may be the rapid rating where it's only 2400+ (lichess rating, not CCRL). Not exactly. My feeling is that rapid time controls attract far more cheats, and so Nezh is losing more games to more "correct" engines like SF and Komodo. Even 5 5 is enough for a massively deflated ratin...

Re: Patzer 3.80

Hi Wael, more interesting, much more speculative and aggressive is Patzer 3.61L. This experimental version we used in Leiden and can play very aggressive with pawns. Maybe most aggressive with pawn moves from all engines at this time I know. But around 25 Elo weaker as version 3.80. I believe we ma...

Re: Et Mortuus Est Rex

Still, I hope you do find some time to go up against Nezh, a coffeehouse player of amazing strength and ability, one which is equally at home in closed positions. IMO Nezh is too strong for the average player, Carl. Plays beautifully, yes, but too strong to give the average player - even strong pla...

Re: Et Mortuus Est Rex

- Rebel 6.0 I think some Benjamin 1.0 setting could outdo Rebel 6.0. The idea would be to use its Master.eng setting to create a personality that disregards material to make it sacrifice it to keep the position open and tactical and after this is achieved switch to ProDeo 2.2 at full strength to fi...

Re: Et Mortuus Est Rex

Among the 2400 CCRL level engines, Romichess, Gaia, Gosu and Ares GB 1.1 are reputed to have more interesting styles, with some knowledge built-in. Perhaps, Tigran belongs in that group as well. :) +1 Also there's... -Gromit 2.0/2.13/2.20 - Phalanx XXII - Trace - WChess 1.06 - Queen 2.36 -Baron 1.6...

Re: Looking for uci engines with piece value options shown

I'd be glad to release a Minic version for that if you're interesting I am interested, preferably an option name without space. Also allow the min/max to have more distance from default value. Example: option name KnightValue type spin default 300 min 100 max 500 You can use Minic 2.38 unofficial r...

Re: Teams of chess engines in a league with schedules\playoffs

Is there a chess gui that would help facilitate such a thing where I could create a tournament between teams where team members don't play each other, only the members of the other team? I think this is an awesome idea! My suggestion is to add it as a feature request to the Banksia thread. I'll def...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Feature Request:

- Allow human player/s in engine tournaments.

- Change font size of engine output.

Much appreciated, especially the first one.

Re: Xiphos x Ethereal: Who has the best style?

Why does Lev Aronian prefer an engine from years ago because as he says "it moves match his style" ... Well that is an easy one. Because the engine from years ago is far weaker. If you say so Andrew, I'm not gonna waste my morning arguing. But isn't it interesting... Komodo, the engine designed by ...

Re: Xiphos x Ethereal: Who has the best style?

Wrong. It is in fact the reverse. There is a reason why GMs and super GMs typically don't care for engines in the slightest. Its not because they are ego-tripping. Its because engines don't play in an interesting way. Actually...your thinking is flawed here again too. 1. Most GMs are strong enough ...
