Re: SEO

Firstly, "Computer Chess" in SEO terminology is a single keyword. But it is a keyword which reveals very little about the user's intentions. Google has changed it's algorithm a lot since the days when "keyword stuffers" could just throw a bunch of keywords in their <head> section and dominate...

Re: 2 open projects

Frankly ten years from now stockfish would be so disgustingly strong that no one would really care about lc zero. Now that's jumping to conclusions. Someone remind me which was the strongest engine in 2008? Ten years changes a lot and since the application of AI to strategy games has been gro...

Re: 2 open projects

I am really amazed how far people are jumping to conclusions. I personally, wasn't assuming that my prediction would happen tomorrow. Even if it took ten years, I believe my prediction (and Graham's) would be most likely. LCZero despite being weak currently, is as far as I can see, the biggest chan...

Re: 2 open projects

lczero will attract more ppl, leaving the stockfish project with fewer helping out, but without dying. Agreed. When LZZero catches SF in terms of strength, the superior playing style and comparable strength will leave only the diehard Stockfish heads to continue that particular work. That's my feel...

Re: CDrill 1800 for TMET ... vs. the Mephisto's?

Hi Brendan, for FEOBOS is 8-10 move length really a problem!? Short explanation: Often ECO codes formed after 1 or 2 moves. If I create now an opening book undo 8-10 moves, to many of good lines for such openings are in the book and opening will be to often on the board. Much other ECO formed forme...

Re: Question to Ferdi/Uly (Aiquiri Related)

(Insert Ferdi's advice here) Thanks Ferdi, I figured out my problem. I'd stupidly typed "slave1.exe" when renaming the engines, which resulted in a filed called "slave.exe.exe" No wonder it didn't work. I must say that this is very interesting when combining weaker engines. Stockfish and co t...

Re: CDrill 1800 for TMET ... vs. the Mephisto's?

A while ago I released ProDeo 2.4 but received hardly any feedback if there is value in the chosen framework for improvements. http://rebel13.nl/prodeo/prodeo24.html Hi Ed, Can this Elo adjustable version use personalities from ProDeo 2.6? The ones created with your online tuner, I mean... I wouldn...

Re: CDrill 1800 for TMET ... vs. the Mephisto's?

Hi Ferdinand, I like it. In my opinion important: 1. Mate extension (the way to the success Johan has with TheKing in chess computer times). 2. The opening book should be very strong . You can used the FEOBOS database (error free) as engine book if you like. So CDrill can play all 500 ECO codes. 3....

Question to Ferdi/Uly (Aiquiri Related)

This post refers to the idea proposed and implemented here: http://talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?topic_view=threads&p=754847&t=66853 Firstly guys, this idea to combine the ideas of several engines is genius and I find it pretty exciting what the implications of such an adapter could be. That bei...

Re: RAM speed and engine strength

Rambus is a patent buying company , then sues every other company that remotely uses some method/feature mentioned in the patents . The company has engineers but they never came up with a good product. The initial P4 RDRAM fiasco had to be solved/finished by Intel engineers. Later they abandoned RD...
