Re: Chess.com 2018 Bonus games

When you give the "knightmare" or queens in the corner position to Houdini, it returns:

Code: Select all

Invalid position: Too many white knights
Reverting to starting position
or

Code: Select all

Invalid position: Too many white queens
Reverting to starting position
respectively.

Re: Chess.com 2018 computer chess championship

This is the Semi-Slav, Anti-Meran, Lilienthal Variation (https://www.365chess.com/eco/D44_Queen%27s_Gambit_Declined_semi-Slav_anti-Meran_Lilienthal_variation). It's amazing they came up with all this on their own. According to my admittedly outdated database, the first new move was 18.h4, where prev...

Re: Leela solves the Qf6+!!

If you click through the games starting at #1, the Event label stays the same until they simplify it at Game 10 on, when it also no longer changes, i.e., LC0 is always listed first.

Re: Leela solves the Qf6+!!

See the graph at the left, LC0(white line) saw a draw a lot earlier. (Move 28 for LC0 while move 127 for Stockfish to consider a draw) http://i64.tinypic.com/14e5pvd.jpg See the graph at the left, LC0(black line) saw a draw earlier than SF. (At move 98 LC0 already considers it draw, whiel stockfish...

Re: New uci engine: Rofchade

This is fascinating, reaching such a high rating with just material and PST's. Your search must be awesome! :) Could you say a little about your piece square tables? For example, are they symmetrical or were they "Texel tuned" and left alone (which often results in higher weights on the kingside sin...

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney July

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney July

It appeared to me that KingSlayer lost on time vs RookieMonster in the first round, but instead of a result, I got a message about an invalid command once its time had expired. I then logged out and can no longer get back in; it seems to think I'm entering non alpha characters for a user name. If no...
