Thanks for the replies, wasn't able to get T rex 1.7 but one of the links gave me a way in to the old arena files and I was able to download some old arena language files that I wanted,that are not on the present web site, so not a bad result. Thanks

Hi Does anyone have a link to T.rex 1.7 (uci)? I seem to have lost it somewhere. its a weak engine, but fun to play against, particularly as it never seems to castle. That's alright if the preferred style is that of Karpov or Petrosian, but what if one likes Tal better? Besides, too much solidity can be detrimental to a very strong engine, since it can rob it of extra winning chances. Ideally, the much stronger engine should be inclined to play for a win, rather...

NNUE seems stronger overall at all phases of the game, but especially in quiet positions where regular SF only sees 0.00, and transitioning to better endgames where it can grind out wins slowly but surely. What are the consequences of NNUE on the style of stockfish's play as opposed to the classical, or is it just a case of a stronger stockfish?
