Re: Extracting quiet positions?

i did something like that a couple years ago. i used the python-chess library. The documentation is here: https://python-chess.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html I used the parsing features to grab a FEN and then some other calls to see if any of the available moves were captures. i think i ignored...

Re: SSD SATA Recommendation

oh, the PCLe devices.
I do have a M.2 port for one of those, though it is directly next to the GPU which I would have to take out to see if an SSD would fit. The speed is very impressive but it appears the 970 series is very expensive (twice as much as a SATA drive).

SSD SATA Recommendation

I need a recommendation for an internal 2TB SATA SSD. I'm trying to consolidate all my EGTBs which I currently have on a 256Mb USB3 flash drive. I can't fit the Nav 6 man files on it though, but in total, all the EGTBs I have take up about 1.2TB I saw this unit on Amazon (cheapest) Crucial BX500 2TB...

Re: Sargon 1978 - Bringing it back to life

There was an article about Sargon's move generation in Byte magazine back in the day. Not sure of what year or issue though. I recall it had a flowchart of how it generated moves. If I recall, it was move offset on a 10x12 board.

Need more teeth

A reference to a quote from "Jurassic World". I found the following in my list of positions to verify and my PC doesn't have the horsepower to get a definitive correct first move. I had the correct move listed as g3, but it might be a typo since most engines, including Leela prefer h3 eventually. Kf...
