Re: On-line engine blitz tourney March

Does mamer support McMahon? No, but it sounds like a easy change. It sorts the players by rating before the first-round pairing ayway. Assigning them a 'McMahon bonus' at that time should be easy (and it would not even require a re-sort). I could let the bonus ramp up in steps of a half point to ju...

OICS Reborn?

I've been in comp chess since 1996, but I took a looong hiatus a while back due to job loss, fiance issues (didnt get married), depression, anxiety, both of my grandparents dying (btw that is 1/2 my family only my mom left). Anyway, I'm climbing out of the ashes :) Comp chess was always a highlight ...

Re: On-line engine blitz tourney March

I am not sure more rounds is a good idea. We could switch from plain Swiss to the McMahon system, however. Then we could start (with 40 engine) the weakest 3 (rating-wise) with 0 points, 35-37 with half a point, 32-34 with 1 point etc., until 17-19 start with 3.5. Number 1-16 would then all start w...

By chance what channel do you all chat on? 50? If so guests can't chat on it. Thanks for running this! -J...

Re: Nalimov EGTB + Torrent

Ignore the other posts I'm now sharing some of the Nalimov set via torrent. http://oics.olympuschess.com/tracker Currently 3-4-5, and 3+3 are available, I'll add the rest as I continue to verify my originals and create the torrents. I'll try and seed as long as possible but other seeders would be gr...

Re: Syzygy 5-1 egtb

I meant 5-1 files. I host the 3-4-5, and then the two 6piece but not 5-1 unless I overlooked them in the 6men set. So do I. The first (alphabetically) rtbz file in your torrent is KBBBBvK.rtbz. How is that not a 5-1 file? KQQQQvK.rtbz is also there. I haven't checked all of them, but if you feel on...

Only the black king remain
More for completeness of the set and for others who might be interested in 5-1 analysis. Know it's not really practical but doesn't hurt to preserve just in case. :)

Satus of 7 men?

Back when I was in the game 6men was hard but doable. Now honestly a high end gaming rig can do it. What is the status of 7 men? I know it exist but for pay. Any ideas if the Syzygy author is willing to make the code so? I know we have a lovely group of people with NICE hardware (myself included) wh...

Re: Syzygy 5-1 egtb

Files such as KBBNNvK.rtbz and rtbw do exist. I don't remember if I generated them or downloaded them. I do remember that it takes about the same amount of time to generate or download a file from the torrent sites I tried (assuming that you already have the precursors). Thanks mate :) so the gen d...
