Re: Banksia GUI released

I did some other test to see how the book conversion works. I created a bin book 6 ply deep from the main lines of top players. I loaded this book in Banksia and in Scid. I converted this bin book to pgn in Banksia and I imported this pgn in Chess Position Trainer. I created two openings for it, one...

Re: Banksia GUI released

I tried the new book conversion option. Not all lines are there, even not all main lines are there. I tried it with the bin book gm2600 that comes with Scid. As you can see in the tree window, from the pgn file from the converted bin book. Only the moves dxc4, and Bf5 are there. Thanks a lot for th...

Re: Banksia GUI released

I have tried the new book conversion option. There are no opening lines in the pgn file after converting a bin book to pgn, only positions. I have heard from experienced programmers that it is technicality unpossible to convert a bin book to pgn to see the opening lines. I'm not a programmer but I c...

Also Eman Chimera can change engine by number of pieces on the board not just move number.
How to set this option? And how many pieces do you recommend to change engine?

If this is not possible, I would like to request some other way to achieve the same result. Say for example, I have two pgn books. 'Elo_2500_gg', (with all variations for white and for black); and 'Elo_2500_gg_mainlines', (with only the main lines for white and for black). Now I want to create a ne...

Re: How to find original games in big database

I find a way to find the original games without pgn-extract. From the 'big' database, I first delete doubles with the standard setting from Chessbase. I remove all games less than 40 ply. Than I remove all tags from the 'big' pgn database and import this database to a ‘temp' scid' database. There I ...

Re: Banksia GUI released

[/quote] Thanks for your requests/suggestions. I have added them to my TODO list and may implement them soon. For merging PGN books it is easy. Actually you can merge them manually because they all are text files. BSG can do a bit better since it can filter out all double openings. However, what you...
