Re: How to find original games in big database

I find a way to find the original games without pgn-extract. From the 'big' database, I first delete doubles with the standard setting from Chessbase. I remove all games less than 40 ply. Than I remove all tags from the 'big' pgn database and import this database to a ‘temp' scid' database. There I ...

Re: Banksia GUI released

[/quote] Thanks for your requests/suggestions. I have added them to my TODO list and may implement them soon. For merging PGN books it is easy. Actually you can merge them manually because they all are text files. BSG can do a bit better since it can filter out all double openings. However, what you...

Re: Banksia GUI released

I find it confusing that deleted books still are shown in the list of books in Banksia 0.22

Image

I have to delete the folder: C:\Users\creme\AppData\Roaming\BanksiaGUI, to fix the problem of showing deleted books.

Re: Banksia GUI released

Hi,
I wanted to try the new book merging options for pgn books, in Banksia 0.21
When I tried to make a bgdb from a pgn database, the pgn database is not listed.
I made a video capture of it:

Re: How to find original games in big database

Thanks for the recommendations. I tried the method Ferdy described. The result is not perfect. Allot of sidelines are also included in the results. I use obk2bin to convert a obk book to pgn. Than I convert to cbh in Chessbase 15 and search for games with a ? and delete these games, so only the main...

Re: How to find original games in big database

I don't know how to write scripts. I'm not a programmer. I can only do some very basic stuff with command line apps. There are also some shorter games included I would like to be able to search for. Most games are 40 ply, but some are shorter, I think because the original games where also shorter.

How to find original games in big database

I have a small database, (let's say 300000 games), with truncated games from length 40ply, with player names and game statistics. The games are from a obk book, made from a big database with about 800000 games. I converted to pgn with obk2bin. So the player names and game statics got lost in the pro...

Re: Question about old software Chessmaster

Thanks you very much for this information Dann! I will google for this Don Laabs. I made a obk book from a database with about 800000 games, 40 ply deep. I don't know exactly how many moves it is. I converted the book to bin with obk2bin https://goneill.co.nz/chess.php I like the book because its wi...
