Re: Banksia GUI released
Oops! Thanks a lot for the report! Can you send me the database (with the extension bgdb - the one you use to create the Polyglot book) for checking? I am a bit struggling to reproduce the crash. Thanks again.
Its when choosing the format pgn instead of bin when making a book from ...

Re: Advice on book building

I want to try this book editing in WinBoard for editing my own book. Where exactly can I change the book to edit? Where can I find this Common Engine Settings dialog? In the Engine main menu ('Common Settings'). The book name should go into the text entry after 'Use book:', which also has a browse ...

Book format is Polyglot. The book that is edited is the one installed as GUI book in the Common Engine Settings dialog.

Re: Advice on book building

I use PolyGlot Tolerant for book making: https://chess.massimilianogoi.com/download/polyglottolerant/polyglot_tolerant/ You can change the weight of book moves with SCID. You can even add moves with SCID. With SCID vs PC you can delete moves of a book, but it takes a long time. It is faster if you d...

Re: Banksia GUI released

I have tried the book making functions of BanksiaGui-0.18 and I have some questions. https://i.ibb.co/Yh19Nwq/screenshot-Database-Builder.png When converting a pgn database to Banksia format, there is a dropdown list where I can choose: Create New Database, Tree, and Merge What does the Tree and Mer...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Hi, Mr Nguyen Hong Pham I have some requests to implement in future versions of Banksia. Chess Position Trainer has some unique way to navigate tro a repertoire. It is possible to jump to positions where there is more than one candidate move for the side of the repertoire. (> candidate). It is a uni...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Thanks a lot. I got it. The bug is fixed for the next release (it turns out the regular expression which I have used for my PGN parser will ignore the games with empty tags, such as [Annotator ""]). Thanks I'm looking forwards to the next release of Banksia. Is it already possible to use the book m...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Look like games in your PGN file are in different chess variants and/or seriously wrong format since BSG can tolerate with some wrong on PGN files. You may check by following steps: - Open your PGN file by any text editor - Copy randomly a game then paste into BSG If BSG says it can't open, check w...

Re: Banksia GUI released

The time for creating a PGN opening book depends on computers, the stronger one will be faster. On my 2-year-old computer (3.6 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7), it took about 5 minutes to convert a game database of 1.7 million games (human GMs) into a PGN opening book. It means 800 K games will take ro...
