Re: Sargon 1978 UCI Available

I should add that I've tested the program, it runs fine and searches about 8 ply on my modest laptop at fast time controls. It will beat you if you don't pay attention. It beats me even when I do. Re: Sargon 1978 UCI Available

Sargon does NOT know the opposition principle, you can view it here and replay what Sargon played. You are quite correct, Sargon does not know the opposition principle. Re: Difficulties using an engine to understand my mistakes

I'd like to use an engine to understand my mistakes in games I have played. I have great difficulties with this, however, because most of the time I just don't understand why a move I played is bad and the engine suggestion is better. It's obvious if I have a hanging piece and loose a queen, okay. ...

Re: Do you test engines with or without using a book?

Well nowadays I am working on a rating with Kings & Pawns Games. 4k3/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/4K3 w - - 0 1 I get students playing this as part of my coaching. :P I played this when I learn chess in my childhood :) Funny but there is a lot of losses happening. Komodo is the best in Non-NNUE engine...
