Re: Elements of the ULTIMATE Chess GUI?

WinBoard/XBoard support time odds as well, of course. Just not different TC modes. Not because it would be difficult to program, but because it seems completely useless, or even worth discouraging. It's interesting to test with different TCs. Even if it has no real use. Just different numbers. It's...

Re: Stockfish misevaluations:

Took 13 more hours to get to 95.
Progress has slowed down to a crawl, still +5.38.

Re: Stockfish misevaluations:

94/102 now.
Took 15 hours to calculate after 93/101. PV is significantly different compared to 93/101 quite early.
Hope the branching factor for 95 and 96 ply depth aren't going to be that high.

Re: Stockfish misevaluations:

It hasn't shown any extra depth after 93, even after 8-10 hours. I guess when I come back from work it will be at 94. (Almost 20 hours after it reached 93) Guess it found something new. Probably still a draw, but I have time. Or it's struggling with the 50 move draw rule. Since seldepth was already ...

Re: my Lc0 spreadsheet

Leela Ratio is in deed hard to estimate. I would say mine is average 1.1. From the startpossition Stockfish with 12 cpus has about 18.000 kNs in 1-2 Minutes and Lc0 24.000nps - 25.000 nps. So this is 1.2 ratio. But when I observe the games, SF is far over 20.000 kNps after very few moves, while Lc0...

Re: Stockfish misevaluations:

And the timer of Arena started anew... I really hope it's just graphic. The PV still stands so I hope it's fine. Otherwise I'll refrain from touching the PC for a few days. Hate the fickleness of Arena. Anyway, here's the whole text of the PV: http://www.mediafire.com/file/kzasa76u676fu0t/sf1.txt/fi...

Yea, 92/97, 600 billion visited nodes and it's still a +5.38. could you post the PV please? 4b3/5k2/p5p1/P2p1p1p/1PpPrP1P/2P2QP1/5K2/8 w 92/97 20:53:48 600.075.784k 7.977k +5,38 b4-b5 Be8xb5 Qf3-h1 Kf7-g7 Qh1-b1 Re4-e6 Qb1-b4 Bb5-e8 Qb4-b7+ Be8-f7 Kf2-g1 Re6-f6 Qb7-c8 Rf6-e6 Qc8-d8 Re6-e3 Kg1-f2 Re...

Re: Stockfish misevaluations:

It could be useful to look at the position at the end of the PV, to see what exactly it considers +5.38, and whether this is an obvious mis-evaluation. The position at the end never really changes. Just the queen sitting on the top half with the R and B also sitting there. Maybe it is one of those ...
