I agree. There were all the Playchess engines tournaments of every day since 2017. Plus alot of valuable free books to fight against and new or updated engines. I guess no serious opening book is made just translating games into book format, there's always: a) a human selection of games b) a human sorting of that selection (as chess opening books compilers use the First Comes First Served algorythm, so there is a hierarchy bound to the sorting in the making...

The spirit of sharing is to ask nothing in return. Otherwise you're selling, even if you're not selling for money. The system was meritocratic and I can't see anything bad about it.
