Re: To Jeroen and interested minds, re. Tiger node count
Huh? You must be kidding. Calling me a 'collaborator' (which is a very negative word in the Dutch language) is pretty offensive, so I am filing an official complaint here. I don't accept such language, especially not from a moderator. So basically other programmers can question anything about Rybka ...

Re: So the whole Mchess UCI was a hoax?
Yes, UCI Rex Chess with Rybka evaluation, that would be nice :-). BTW, I had a very nice time visiting Mainz the past few days, where the annual Chess Classics were held. Including the Chess960 (or Fischer Random Chess) world championships. There were even some chess computers present, so the visito...

Wow, this is great! I am really looking forward to a UCI MChess. It always has been one of my favourites in the times of Rebel and Chess Genius.

Re: Reality scarier than fiction
Hi Albert,
Thanks! Yesterday I also tried a small match between F11 and R3 32-bit single (3 mins blitz) and after 50 games F11 had won only 1 game.
Kind regards, Jeroen

Re: Reality scarier than fiction
Hi Albert, Thanks for the test, this result is indeed incredible :-). Can you do me one favour? I know that the Fritz 11 GUI has problems with showing the right scores when playing engine-engine matches. I.e. the score it keeps during the match is likely to be faulty. Can you check if the score in t...

Re: Handicap match: Rybka 3 and GM Dzindzidashvili started!
This is a handicap match, Bob. Without pawn f7 you are material down plus you are positionally worse. So white starts with an advantage of at least +1,25 at the beginning of the game and black needs white mistakes to draw or even win the game.

Two new testsuites available
Dear chess friends, Today I have updated my testsuite called 'Noomen Testsuite 2006' which is now available as 'Noomen Testsuite 2008'. It contains 30 new opening positions for engine-engine testing. Just for fun I also made a gambit testsuite with 50 opening positions, 'gambits only'. If you dislik...

Re: Impressive Preliminary Results of Rybka 3 by Larry Kaufm
These are results from Larry's testing. Currently I have: Rybka 3 (+ R3.ctg) - Rybka 2.3.2a (+ RII.ctg) 72-28 Rybka 3 (+ R3.ctg) - Toga II 1.4 beta5c (+ Compmaster.ctg) 80.5-19.5 Rybka 3 (+ R3.ctg) - Hiarcs 12 (+ H12 book) 79-21 Note that these are Rybka 3 beta versions, in the first 2 matches the L...

Re: Impressive Preliminary Results of Rybka 3 by Larry Kaufm
If you read the Rybka forum carefully, you can see that the 100 Elo gain claim is also supported by results against other engines. Surprisingly the elo gain from games vs other engines is even better than Larry's claim.
