Re: Rybka (without Nb1) vs FM Meyer (ELO 2280) 0-3 (PGN)!

FM Meyer wins this Match against Rybka (playing on a 8 core machine). He leads after 3 (from 4 games) 3-0!!! Thanks! It's a completely logical result. There is a limit on the handicap you can give. A Knight is just too much. A good player with a Knight more, should be able to win against any top Gr...

Advertisement from ICC: "Change from your Junior 9 to Junior 11, paired with a hardware upgrade, and that will make you a difference worth a whole Illescas". Dell: "A chess engine on an affordable Dell machine stands against a world-class GM who was allowed to use his own computer for assistance!!!...

A master who doesn't mind

If this link does not work, just search Judith Polgar computer. enjoy kburcham http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DQcArPizkI&feature=related It's a point of view, and I know that many share it. "I want you to check me as hard as you can..."

YouTube has become a fantastic source for all that is video, and short (mostly). Chess events of all sizes, now regularly post videos and reports on YouTube. For example, the recently completed US Championship had daily reports on it. On a different level, I ran across a hilarious and very well done...

Zappa Singular Extensions

Has anyone tested Zappa Mexico with SE (singular extensions) turned on? At the CB site, the description by Cozzie says: Both versions come with an implementation of Singular Extensions, the famous Deep Blue search algorithm. They are disabled by default, but they increase the tactical strength of th...

Re: 41 Euros???????????????????????????'''

Hi Albert: Respect what you say of downloading stuff as the better way to get it, I, in all class of programs, not only chess, followed that path for years, but in the same period I have suffered many loses due to: a) formatting the HD without remembering to back up b) spontaneous crashes of the sy...

Re: 41 Euros???????????????????????????'''

New SmartThink 1.1 cost 41 euros and some cents. Just the download. If you want also the CD -I advice NEVER to purchase just a download package: you will have problems sooner or later- you must add some extra bucks. Don't you think this is a bit too much? Just a bare engine 41 euros? I still rememb...

Re: Which GUI is best for testing 64 bit engines?

Chess Assistant (9, I assume) And CA8, which is what I'm using. -- Does CB9, Fritz10, Fritz11 or Hiarcs 12 GUI run on x64 systems? Initially, I thought not, but CB9, with the latest patch (March 2008 found at website) loads and runs 64-bit UCI engines. I tested 64-bit Rybkas and 64-bit Fruits. Albert
