YAFTS - Yet Another Fast Testing Scheme

Although his practical implementation was somewhat strange, Michael Hart’s recent proposal ( in this thread ) of a fast elo-estimator based on the comparison between an engine’s evaluation of a set of positions and the moves that were actually played by master correspondence players from these same ...

Re: Cutechess-cli: A command line tool for engine-engine mat

I've uploaded a new version (0.1.3) with a few changes: - Fix an error in the help text (the uci option thing) - UCI string options without a default value are now accepted - Support relative paths in the "dir" engine option - Support millisecond-precision in time controls The millisecond-precision...

Re: Cutechess-cli: a little problem with Bright 0.4a

Same problem with Colossus 2008b

colossus has the following UCI option :

Code: Select all

option name NalimovPath type string
I get :

Code: Select all

Invalid UCI option from "Colossus-2008b" : "name NalimovPath type string"
Seems similar : problem with options of the "string" type if no default value is defined ?

Re: Cutechess-cli: a little problem with Bright 0.4a

I have the following problem with Bright -0.4a : I get the following error message and the first game won't begin : Invalid UCI option from "Bright-0.4a" : "name UCI_Opponent type string" when I launch bright from the command line there is effectively a "UCI-Opponent" uci option. This is the only op...

Re: Cutechess-cli: need some help

But now still another problem. I have cutechess (renamed cccli.exe) in a directory. this directory has several sub-folders, one per engine. The one for Glaurung is named "Glaurung-2.2" and within this folder I have "glaurung-w64.exe" my command begins with : cccli.exe -fcp name=Glaurung-2.2 dir=.\G...

Re: Cutechess-cli: need some help

OK, got it : in the help that prints after you call cutechess with "--help" one reads : uci/<name> <arg> Set UCI option <name> to value <arg> This is erroneous. It should be : uci/<name>=<arg> Set UCI option <name> to value <arg> (note the "=" sign instead of a space between <name> and <arg> Marc

Re: Alternative methods of testing

Very interesting, but could we get a more detailed explanation of the rating process ? Do the engine play games from the selected positions from correspondence games ? or do they analyse them and you search correlation with actually played moves? or correlation with rybka's evaluation of the same mo...

Re: I was Not a Software Pirate

I find it absolutely disgusting that someone so revered in this community like yourself would be even trying to defend Azaad. 1.I do not think I am revered in the community and I do not see why I should be. (I even guess that after these posts i will not have any friends here anymore - but I could ...
