fen to fen functions

I wonder if there is a free program with source that finds symmetric positions of a specific position. The program simply should get a fen and parameter (same side to move in case that there is no problem because of castling rights or different side to move) and return a symmetric fen Example: The p...

Re: Some Moments From Leiden 2007

By the way, does the Rybka 2.2n2 picture mean that it wasn't R 2.3.2 which won the competition, but the old 2.2 version? The Rybka 2.2n2 picture (rybka_916kns.jpg) apparently was taken at the end of Round 9 (against Scorpio) It seems that the Vasik team previously found a hash bug and preferred to ...

Re: Hiarcs is on 4.5/6

correct posted too fast without checking the data. checking the data shows that you played isichess and isichess scored more than Stoofvlees still both rybka and hiarcs scored the same against the same opponents. It is not clear what achievement is bigger because hiarcs played more with the white pi...

Re: Hiarcs is on 4.5/6

Congratulations ! And good luck for the other games. Alain We end the night on 4.5/6 = with Zap and Rybka but if the tournament was only 6 rounds we would have won due to the way they calculate the scores v various opponents. standings are http://www.csvn.nl/ Yes due to the unfair way they calculat...

Re: ComputerChess is bad for you !!

There is nothing important in this position, and endgame table bases have already proved that. Sorry, but there are no 7 man tablebase files with pawns constructed. There are no chess engines I know of that have resolved it either, by elimation of chessmen. There is no proof for this position, only...

Re: Is this positions drawn ??

I agree that this is more convincing and can be used for what I consider as a real proof that I am lazy to construct(I still do not consider it as a proof inspite of the fact that it convinced me). I think that black even does not need the quare a6 and can do fine even on 7*7 board with only c6 and...

Re: Glaurung 2-e/2 - quick test

I said, that maybe it's just a statistical fluke, but I wanted to know if someone else observed that Naum 2.0 is a particulary tough opponent for the new Glaurung. Can't put it any clearer. Spelling of the name of the program is irrelevant to this point of my post. BTW. Naum 2.0, not Naum, this is ...
