Quick Perft is also very fast IIRC but on same Mac (compiled on the fly with a simple gcc -O3) it cannot complete without a hash table and takes 25 secs just to reach perft 7. I think people should interpret what Vas said more accurately. He said that 2.3.2 is more than 50 ELO stronger than 2.3.1 in head to head competition. You have to realize that 2.3.1 had a few bugs that probably made it play around 30 ELO weaker. So this 50 ELO point gain might actually only be 20 o...

Who care about catching a small fish?

I see no reason to try to catch a small fish.

People are going to be more impressed if you catch a stronger animal like tiger or big lion. :)
