Re: I can NOT believe how good Movei421 really is

It looks like it's time for a new Movei release 8-) I hesitate if releasing a new free version is not a mistake. If it becomes better than ruffian2.1.0 it is time to think of making it commercial(even if movei is at the same level as ruffian it can be considered as superior product because movei ca...

Re: ICT Leiden: Third round 2 games on Playchess

Wael, look at the results, Baron was able to draw Rybka. only by cutting it's connection to the internet so rybka had to use slower hardware and could not use tablebases in the endgame. Rybka blundered by 69...a3 when 69...Kg2 is better. If the same had happened to Baron, you would have said someth...

Re: Hiarcs not everybody's cup of tea?

It seems as if Hiarcs is not everybody's cup of tea. Hi John, despite those criticisms, Hiarcs is a fine engine, second best in strength only to Rybka. Good progress seems to be being made too if you look at the various rating lists (with the X54 versions being the only blip along the way). Hiarcs ...

Re: Is this positions drawn ??

I agree that this is more convincing and can be used for what I consider as a real proof that I am lazy to construct(I still do not consider it as a proof inspite of the fact that it convinced me). I think that black even does not need the quare a6 and can do fine even on 7*7 board with only c6 and ...

Re: Is this positions drawn ?? Save us all some trouble

Even if it is written in a text book that it is a draw the book may have mistakes. It is not a proof. Uri It is a draw with correct play and the method for Black has already been explained. Leave the rook on f6 and shuffle the king. White can make no progress. I cannot leave the rook on f6 because ...

PauloSoare wrote:Thanks Uri, wen you wrote about to found a possible zugzuwang in the position, I stay confused.

Paulo Soares
The fact that I did not find a zugzwang does not prove that there is no zugzwang because I did not check all possibilities.

Re: Is this positions drawn ?? Save us all some trouble

Uri Blass, save us all some trouble and look up this position in a text book. You are relying too much on your computer and your real chess skill will be zerorised. Lemme give you a hint so that you can use the search function in google - - rook , queen, pawns, fortress Even if it is written in a t...

Re: Proposal for Rybka team playing in Leiden

How about just using a strong dual core mashine! this would even the odds for the other engines and make a good contest. I have played several matches with Rybka and other engines and have only found it's endgames to be weak. If this weakness is taken away, then this is very bad for other engines :...
