Re: test position is it correct?

I think that 52. Bh2 is a draw too. Paulo Soares It seems that you are right Black has one more tempo but it does not help him in these lines Maybe better test position is after Kf2 Kd3 when you need to find f5 [D]8/1p6/p7/3b4/5Pp1/P2k2Bp/1P3K2/8 w - - 0 53 Toga solves it but does not see the idea ...

Re: Checks and move ordering

In my case finding if the check is checkmate is not a reason to extend because the first thing that I do after making a check is finding if the move ic checkmate. If you extend for this purpose you need to generate all moves even in cases that the move is not checkmate. In this case it is a waste of...

test position is it correct?

[D]8/1p6/p7/3b4/4kPp1/P5Bp/1P2K3/8 w - - 0 52 This is from one of a tournament game that I played few days ago. I believe that my opponent found the only drawing move 52.f5 It seems that line like 52...Kxf5 53.Kf2 Ke4 54.Kg1 Kd3 55.Kh2 Kc2 56.Be5 is a draw I believed that I can win by 52...Bc4+ but ...

Re: Checks and move ordering

My question is which move should I search first, not how deep should I search it. These questions are intimately related. It is usually a bad idea to search a move first that is extended, even if it is the best move. I am just working on equipping Joker with check awareness. After some contemplatio...

Re: Symbolic: First results with whole-tree mate search

Symbolic: First results with whole-tree mate search There are a number of bugs in the code and redundancies in the search, to be sure. But it does seem to work. It was able to solve WAC.163 with just a 660 node search, and BWTC.0031 fell after only 130 nodes: Interesting, my engine bright needs 692...

Where can you get the new Movei 418. Thanks George It is a Beta version that I obtained from Uri. Re: "SMIRF".......Snifff.......Coff coff

Hi Fernando, ... I thinks perhaps it would be not a bad idea to include a book. ... well, not surprising, I disagree. Because that depends on your goals. If you would like to have the XX-th Crafty clone, an early playing strength through tournaments might be interesting. But to experiment with new ...

Re: "SMIRF".......Snifff.......Coff coff

The downloadable engine available in the site is extremely weak. I would like to see another, stronger engine made with the techniques the author explain, more or less clearly. An engine must be very very weak to be beaten by me at just 15 minutes the game because I am a lousy fast player, but this...

how much time to see the draw?

This position is from my last tournament game [D]8/8/8/8/6p1/1pBk2Kp/1P6/3b4 b - - 0 76 I was black. I wonder how much time does your program need to see the draw? Note that some moves earlier one of my team member told me that I can offer a draw but I did not want to do it because I was not sure th...
