Btw, anyone knows any data mining projects with chess? I mean not endgame tablebase mining but something that could be done on such game-databases? The usefulness might be less than you think. I hadn't thought of that... what a shame. I guess we may be back to the awkward copy protection days (if that even helps the issue here).

It's been a while since WC2008. I admit that the possibility of seeing a cluster version is exciting (I think this was mentioned at some point) but in any case it would be nice to see a newer version of (D)Sjeng.

Any plans that you could share?

Is there a clear leader among top engines in terms of tactical ability? I tried some of the best on several (20-30) really hard positions and have found Rybka WinFinder to be really quick in finding solutions. Deep Fritz 10.1 also did very well, but I would love to hear from someone who did a more s...
