Re: Komodo 12.2.1

It brings me no pleasure to report a new and I believe serious bug: Under Fritz GUI, engine match, Komodo 12.2.1 does not release one of the threads and continues to use the CPU *on opponent’s time* with NO PONDER selected. This behavior does not start immediately; it appears to kick in at some poin...

Re: Komodo 12.2 Announcement

[Hi, do you have a link to the post of the most common 7 man suggestions [/quote] I did some analysis on a database of human and computer games (over 6 million). Total number of times a 7-men position was reached was 616,969. 6-1 endgames: 5,999 5-2 endgames: 80,275 4-3 endgames: 530,695 Here are th...

Re: What got you into computer chess?

What got you into computer chess? Battle Chess, a love of programming, and no chess set. Tim Krabbe's ( https://timkr.home.xs4all.nl/chess/chess.html ) unforgetable: "The moment was still there when he had seen two boys playing chess, and there had been an explosion of certainty that he wanted that...

Re: LC0 and tablebases

Long time ago I put this position together to help me determine if TB access was working. Without 6-men tablebases engines (including latest Lc0) report a large negative score for white. With TB the obvious Rxh3 returns 0.00. If you are testing for 5-men tablebases then simply remove the black pawn ...

So I'd rate this one a 2; Stockfish seemed very confused for a long time. Pretty study! Houdini 6.03 on 14 cores ...

Would you happen to know what LC0 parameters are used by TCEC?
PK
lc0 -t 4 --minibatch-size=512 --backend=multiplexing "--backend-opts=(backend=cudnn,gpu=0),(backend=cudnn,gpu=1)" --nncache=2000000
Thank you!

We just submitted net id 10520. Most likely it will be the one used.

Re: LCZero: Progress and Scaling. Relation to CCRL Elo

The interesting change is that in going from v 0.7 to 0.8 the 1080 ti went from 836.9 GFLOPs to 1,134.3 GFLOPs after tuning (both in silent mode of the GPU I am using).

It would appear that the new network size allows Leela to take better advantage of this GPU.

Re: Do you believe, that AlphaZero is a hoax?

Please be honest. To be honest I think Google itself is a hoax. There is no way their search query can be so advanced so as to undestand your query and answer it. So how does Google do it? Well they have a team of idiot savants (grossly underpaid I must say) quick on their feet who between them hav...

Yes, and I have it on good authority that this was perpetrated by the same people who had staged the lunar landings.
