Re: Playing against your own engine

First half of the game I was better. But game getting chaotic and I got behind in time. So this version of my engine plays opening badly. 4. Bd6? 6.gxf6? Time control 10 minutes [Event "Computer Chess Game"] [Site "LAPTOP-1FK7MTIP"] [Date "2020.05.03"] [Round "-"] [White "Gebruiker"] [Black "Skippe...

Re: Giving up the center

I have a question to a similar position: r1bqkb1r/ppp2ppp/2np1n2/8/3NP3/2N5/PPP2PPP/R1BQKB1R w KQkq - 0 6 This can happen out of Philidor or Scotch, so that's very common position on an amateur level. So what's White's best way to continue? I guess many good moves here. Leela favours Bb5, while Sto...

Re: Giving up the center

Depth above 30. Maybe ed: is playable for engines but not for humans. Very difficult to equalize after ed: It is common knowledge that giving up center is bad. Ok Stockfish would win from Euwe but that is because of better tactics. I am using Stockfish for preparation but if it suggests moves that ...

Re: Leela ver.0.25.0

For the interest I made test with my RTX 2080 Ti OC TURBO Threads=2, net was T40B.4-160, using Leela ver.0.25.0 max.speed = 50.0 kn/sec (Depth=18, Time=100sec, Nodes=4970 kn) Note The version 0.25.0 is a good Leela, it works well and its compilation was flawless. Did you mean JHorthos T40B.4- 106 ?...

Re: How to run rtx 2080ti for leela optimally?

Since ~6 months ago, Lc0 automatically detects when to use fp16. I believe you just use a different network size. 20000 for 320x24 nets is normal, it's probably 256x20 that gets 35000. You can see other's speeds at http://lc0.org/benchmark, and network examples for different sizes at http://lc0.org...

Re: For how long will Stockfish be competitive versus the best NN ?

I think this position is a better test and I would certainly like to see your analysis of it. I originally thought this would be a “hard” test, but now I'm not so sure how hard it is. I think “most” (meaning 50% or more) ICCF 2200 players can/would solve this if it occurred in one of their games. 4...
