Re: Arasan test suite - draft version

This is another one I have been looking at recently - I don't think this is in the set I posted: 8/4k3/8/1P2b1PP/8/3pQ3/5PK1/3q4 b - - bm Ke6; c0 "Arasan-acgs, ICC 2019"; 8/4k3/8/1P2b1PP/8/3pQ3/5PK1/3q4 b - - Stockfish 10 and Houdini 6 get this pretty rapidly at a depth under 30 or so, but my engin...

McCain X4 Release Final

Bianries ( all flavors) , source and more details will be found at the link below. I will be updating the details throughout the day, but in summary : McCain can be used with four polyglot opening books, with book 1 , should be a very focused book based on player or opening, book 2 is wider and for ...

Re: Arasan test suite - draft version

Current McCain takes about 30 minutes ...doesn't seem very good to me... this is the beta version with now default Lc0 like scoring. so it sees a draw with the Rook sac ... Yeah, not good. Too much LMR? Cfish-dev finds Rxe7 in about 3.5 minutes---using one thread. Note that Rxe7 is move 42 (of 43 i...

Re: Anyone know of a way to download FR fens(chess960) by FR position number?

I know i complained earlier i find FR programming confusing and painsaking at times but it was heavily tested and developed over 4-5 weeks and i'm actually confident that in play and pgn playback i think we got all bugs out. Could not do it myself, my tester was sharp too As I told him particularly...

Re: Anyone know of a way to download FR fens(chess960) by FR position number?

Castling is very easy to figure out and if you don't include FRC with castling , you are probably wasting your time. To castle with the GUI, you just move the K to the R square your are castling with. Stockfish handles it correctly, you can probably use their logic. Pulsar with FR is in release a w...

Houdini under macOS

Just for kicks today, I tried running Houdini 6.03 x32 ( windows) under the HIARCS MacOS Explorer and it worked! Here's it's playing a 32 bit version of McCain-X4 (Windows). Although I have often tried running w32 engines in the past ( about once a year) , I only had somewhat spotty success under th...

Re: DTM50

For example look at the various arves files https://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=32814 A lot of these positions are easy to get a TB mate score, but a mate distance is much harder. [D]4BQ2/1r3P2/4Pk2/5P1q/8/p7/P7/K7 w - - 0 1 With 6-piece TBs and 5-piece DTM: info depth 32 se...
