Re: best server for computers to play variants currently?

It should be interesting to test out against stockfish. I think that mine is a bit more optimized for atomic than variant stockfish is, but the base engine for stockfish is of course stronger. Currently I'm going through and dealing with the bitrot from not working on it for so long, the last time ...

Re: best server for computers to play variants currently?

I've also looked at lichess, and it seems decent for humans to play variants, but not very friendly to computers if I read their policies right. If it matters, I'm currently mostly thinking about atomic, looking for some serious competition for my engine to motivate me to work on it more. Your Atom...

Re: Capablanca Random Chess engines.

A first working version of Durandal is ready. Certainly the weakest engine available. I see durandal32.exe and durandom32.exe there. What is the difference? And will the "durandal32.exe" -fd "C:\Program Files (x86)\WinBoard-AA\WinBoard\WinBoard\Durandal" /variant="capablanca" -fUCI command w...

Re: Capablanca Random Chess engines.

Pingy is a private CRC and Gothic Chess engine of 2007 that i was given for beta testing by a well known commercial author. It was a little stronger than Gothic Vortex. It's irrelevant now. Well, if Gothic Vortex and Pingy could participate it would make sense to do a new tournament. Does Pingy use...

Re: Scorpio 3.0.2

But install.bat does not even work for me and crashes. So no luck to go further down the steps. I can see on your screenshot, that you located Scorpio in C:\Program Files that could be a problem, because this is a "restricted area" of Windows, where writing in files/folders can be a problem. Perhap...

Re: Scorpio 3.0.2

I wish it would be that easy as Leela. Download the files and run them. :( Yes, but if you follow the 3 steps, I described here, Scorpio should work. But install.bat does not even work for me and crashes. So no luck to go further down the steps. But I agree, the setup and handling of Scorpio is a n...

Re: Lc0 51010

Just a small match with 1 node per move for Leela, versus Stockfish dev with 3000 nodes per move, with 100 predefined varying ECO positions:

Code: Select all

1 Leela lc0v22.0,T40B.4-160, 1 node +133/-43/=24 72.50% 145.0/200
2 Stockfish 190923 3000 nodes +43/-133/=24 27.50% 55.0/200

Re: Scorpio 3.0.2

Does not work for me either.
ScorpioNN installation with the install.bat failed for unknown reason (Threadripper 2990 WX, RTX 2080+2060, 64 GiB RAM, Microsoft Windows 10 x64 pro).

Re: Lc0 + 320x24.J13B.2-swa-136000 vs. Stockfish 250919 TC= 30m+30s

I will tell you. If you are setting Lc0 for maximum NPS. You are on the wrong path. NPS with Lc0 is a false flag. I tune it by time to depth and GPU loading. I ignore NPS results. Tuning Leela according to depth is a very bad idea and it's pointless and dangerous. Dangerous that you will end up wit...
