Re: Quote for GM Shabalov on Chess FM.

You have absolutely no idea. The professionals do interactive Analysis, therefore the engine usually does not calculate long. Certainly almost never 3 minutes or more for a particular position.

Blitz and Bullet strength is most important for serious chess players. Nobody cares about long time controls.

Re: Topalov vs Anand Game 12

I do not like chess players who pretend to be relatively non intelligent and lazy players. Uri I don't believe he is a lazy player, but strong chess players are not necessarily particularly intelligent. Intelligence is not important, otherwise computer programs wouldn't play such a dominant role.

Re: The top 50 unplayable gambits for computers

These are all labeled as 'Gambits' by some opening books or the like. Computers will fall on their face trying to solve them. I guess that most of them have no playable solution. The first one ("Opening: Blackburne shilling gambit; Variation: Alatortsev") , definitely not. Are any of these actually...

Re: Poisoned pawn revisited

How did you come to the conclusion that engines have this opening under control? I always thought the opposite.
