Re: Komodo is now set to come top in stage one of TCEC 10

The big story in round 1 has got to be Booot possibly advancing due to its "disconnection" win against Fizbo. Booot, Fire, Gull, and Chiron are fighting for positions 6-7-8. One of them won't make it. In the controversial game, Fizbo was up 2 pawns and there were bishops of opposite colors at the en...

Re: 4 years after

Yeah its sad that he passed away his site is what introduced me to computer chess learned so much from his site. Same here. Particularly his tournaments. IIRC, they were 4 round-robin, with about 18 participants in each level. Engines who did well moved up in level. Organized like soccer leagues. H...

Re: Stockfish time management is BADLY broken

Let's hope Stockfish not start losing on time, like in the previous TCEC, 2-3 seasons back.. Stockfish time menagement must be fixed. It will probably survive in games with a fixed increment per move. But after a more in depth look at the code, I can only conclude it is totally broken at time contr...

OT - Suspicious Grandmaster Draws

Off topic but it involves computer investigation. Here are 7 recent examples of Grandmasters playing the same moves as a recently played draw by other grandmasters. The games were detected by computer. The fact that they are all short draws infers the possibility that there could be something unethi...

Re: Latest Stockfish patch has -4 ELO regression

It would be interesting to see how SugaR would do vs Stockfish 7. I don't know if SugaR is just a developmental version in disguise or if it really is something special.

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (30th September 2

Here are 4 examples of double entry. There might be more examples since I was only looking at a small portion of 40/40 (games between 4cpu engines). [Event "CCRL 40/40"] [Site "CCRL"] [Date "2014.09.16"] [Round "421.1.165"] [White "Komodo 8 64-bit 4CPU"] [Black "BlackMamba 2.0 64-bit 4CPU"] [Result ...
