Re: Boring

SF8 and the most recent developmental version would make it 7v7.

Re: Latest Stockfish patch has -4 ELO regression

It would be interesting to see how SugaR would do vs Stockfish 7. I don't know if SugaR is just a developmental version in disguise or if it really is something special.

I also found a couple of these where the moves are the same but the player names are reversed: [Event "CCRL 40/40"] [Site "CCRL"] [Date "2010.05.04"] [Round "225.1.286"] [White "Spike 1.2 Turin"] [Black "Stockfish 1.7.1 32-bit"] [Result "1/2-1/2"] [WhiteElo "2746"] [BlackElo "2973"] [ECO "A57"] [Ope...

Here are some double entries with ECO "Axx" from 40/40: [Event "CCRL 40/40"] [Site "CCRL"] [Date "2016.10.01"] [Round "529.1.604"] [White "Ethereal 7.78 64-bit"] [Black "Glass 2.0 64-bit"] [Result "1-0"] [WhiteElo "2586"] [BlackElo "2595"] [ECO "A00"] [Opening "Dunst (Sleipner, Heinrichsen) ...

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (30th September 2

Here are 4 examples of double entry. There might be more examples since I was only looking at a small portion of 40/40 (games between 4cpu engines). [Event "CCRL 40/40"] [Site "CCRL"] [Date "2014.09.16"] [Round "421.1.165"] [White "Komodo 8 64-bit 4CPU"] [Black "BlackMamba 2.0 64-bit 4CPU"] [Result ...

Re: Latest patch to SF looks very promising

Hi Dann, Is this in anyway connected to SugaR xpro 1.2? I mention this because it does appear likely to me that Sugar xpro 1.2 is stronger that either the previous 9/17/17 version of SF or the 8/25/17 version of asmfish. If not, would you know what kind of patch or patches SugaR is using to make it ...

Re: CCRL 40/40, 40/4 and FRC lists updated (27th August 2017

Hi Graham, September 2nd. http://www.computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/4040/rating_list_pure_single_cpu.html How come Stockfish 8 was removed from the pure list? Thanks, SugaR XPrO 1.2 64-bit is in the Stockfish 'family' and has a higher rating. Why not test asmFish? It is also a member of the family.

Re: Tool to ECO classify EPD positions?

Scid vs PC has a file called scid.eco. I am not sure if it comes with the installation or if you have to do a small execution to create it. It contains 10,360 DISTINCT eco positions along with an extended (4 place) ECO value. Here is an outline for a potential tool: Put these 10,360 eco into a binar...
