Re: CCRL update (1st September 2007)
Hi Graham, I decided to do a "draw-rate" analysis of current 40/40 CCRL games between Strelka versions and versions of Rybka, Toga and Fruit. I recall reading that Strelka may be based on those engines. I noticed that CCRL considers Strelka games v Rybka, Toga and Fruit to be "inter-family" games. B...

Re: The Dead of the Fish?.....
It is possible that AC gained some insight from the Strelka revelations. If so, the implementation of those theories into Zap should make it much more competitive with the Fish.

Re: CCRL update (25th August 2007)
Hi Graham & Kiril, In the 40/40 group, I wonder why testing was halted for Naum 2.2 64-bit 2CPU. It only has played 31 games. And based on that, its rating is actually higher (3013 to 3004) than the 4CPU version which has played 266 games. So by your rules, because of insufficient games, the 4CPU ve...

Hi Graham,
I cannot seem to find the link on 40/4 to download "all games". I found it for 40/40 and 40/12. Please check.

Re: EGTB's accesed from the internet?
I'm waiting for a 1200GB stick drive.
It's amazing how much faster egtb access is when the files are on a stick drive. Currently the available 8GB, good enough for 5-man egtbs, costs around $74 (US).

Re: CCRL update (11th August 2007)
Hi Graham, I have another "nit-picking" issue. It concerns the way you guys "export" commented pgns. This in no way diminishes my very high opinion of the wonderful job you guys do. Here is the pgn standard I will refer to: 8.2.2.2: Export format move number indications There are two export format m...

Re: SSDF(Zap!Chess Zanzibar-Junior 10)A1200, 6-2, now 21½-11
There is no need for "disambiguity" notation since one of the 2 rooks is in an absolute pin. The correct notation should be "Rc2". Which gui is it? Chessbase Hi Tony, Chessbase makes its own rules. The best way I know of fixing of the situation, is to use David Barnes free "pgn-extract" before uplo...

Re: Query about notation
If 2 pieces of the same color can go to the same square then we use something like: Nbd4 or Nfd4 This assumes that both moves are legal. If one of the Knights, say the one on the f file, is pinned (absolute pin) to its King, then that Knight cannot legally move. In this case the correct notation wou...

I wasn't so lucky as you Dr. My download says 1.62. After unpacking, I ran the program and it still said 1.62.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:Thanks Andreas, much appreciated
