Strange behaviour in Windows 8

When I run an engine under Windows 8 somehow the taskmanager displays a strange pattern regarding cpu usage. Nonetheless the overall speed the engine reports is about the same as it was under Windows 7. The task manager in windows 7 displays 100% cpu the whole time the engine is running, as expected...

Re: DB - Kasparov 1997 and houdini 3.0

You could either have saved yourself 2 ply and 28 hours, or searched the critical position 2 ply deeper in about the same time by skipping 1. axb5 axb5.

Re: TESTPOSITION!

I wonder if it is also the experience of other people who have houdini3. My Houdini3 4 cpu does not agree on e6 and I do not believe that it is because of tablebases that my houdini3 does not use(note that I used default mode and not tactical mode). My houdini3 also searches only 6 mnodes per secon...

Re: Houdini is unaware what Stockfish is about to do.

It is not the loss that bothers me, but the fact that Houdini only much later than Stockfish realized that is was lost.
