Re: New AMD Zen 3 and Ryzen processors

Your CPU has 2 chiplets with 2 cores each with an 18 MB cache and costs about $100. The 3970x has 32 cores as 4 chiples with 8 cores which is only 8 times as many but it has a 128 MB cache (144 MB if you consider L2 and L3) and costs about $2000. So it is more than the core count, but also the harw...

Re: INTERESTING Engines with Unique Styles (Unlike SF)

I am weak at chess, I am interested in an engine with which will sacrifice a bit just to just charge down and get mate as quick as possible.

Is there any engine which comes close to doing that ?

Re: New AMD Zen 3 and Ryzen processors

I have no complaints about the 3970x. I am getting over 50m nps with my engine. I have seen it hit 100m in the endgame. <snip> I am not technical and wonder if you (or anyone else) could explain something for me. My computer is Ryzen 3 3100, 16 gig ram. On the website below, Ryzen 7 3700X scores 64...

Re: Something new coming down the highway

I managed to get back into the house but could not make it to the phone. I must have laid there for a very long time because when I came to I had pissed and s__t myself. I was able to make it into the bathroom and clean myself off. Then I went and got into bed. I slept 20 hours a day for I do not k...

Re: Are there engines to solve win material problems

I know that engines solve mate in x plies but I do not know if engines can solve win material problem in x plies. For winning problem there is a problem that is not in mate problems that maybe you win material but later lose it so I think that we need definition of win material in x plies and verfi...

Hello: I have read that Jiménez was not awarded as International Master until 1963, so it should not be the 1962 Capablanca Memorial (MI means 'Maestro Internacional' in Spanish, which translates into 'International Master'). Furthermore, I think I have found the correct game. Ché Guevara was a spe...
