Re: Cutechess-cli 0.4.0 released

Okay, cutechess-cli 0.4.1 is now available for Windows users here: http://koti.mbnet.fi/~ilaripih/bin/cutechess-cli-win32.zip This should fix the regression reported by Ferdy (big thanks!) that caused problems with reading engine output in Windows. Linux users can keep using v0.4.0. Ferdinand, plea...

Re: pre-announcement: 10x8 tourney

Wow, you are fast! I think TJchess10x8 has a perft function (none of my engines do, and they would in general not be correct anyway, ad they don't handle all under-promotions). [edit] This one could also be useful. Thanks for the link, now I get results from OmniPerft using variant capablanca. Omni...

Re: pre-announcement: 10x8 tourney

The FxR+H_ prefix is only used when a board size is used that is not standard for the variant of the given name (so 16x16+0_normal would be normal Chess on a 16x16 board, and 8x8+5_knightmate would be a crazyhouse version of knightmate, because it specifies holdings>0,and holdings is the number of ...

Re: Cutechess-cli 0.4.0 released

Was Deuterium supposed to send its move immediately after this line?: # Tm=203 ms, NPS=1047K, Mv=h2h3, Val=0, Hply=124, Fifty=4 Now that I've seen some more of Deuterium's debug output, then answer is clearly yes, which means cutechess-cli lost that line. A fix is coming. Yes it is supposed to send...

Re: Cutechess-cli 0.4.0 released

Hi, thanks for this release. I have tried this version and get a number of loses on time which I could not get from the previous version cutechess-cli 0.3.0. The version 0.3.0 is able to complete matches for a total of 1200 games without problem. Typical batch file, run on i7-2600k, win7 64 bit os....

Re: pre-announcement: 10x8 tourney

Which of those can be downloaded for testing that support 10x8 board size? Regarding the variants in engine-intf.html ... board size plus holdings size, like 8x8+0_capablanca or 10x8+7_capablanca What do holding size mean? Would it be just fine if I use printf("feature variants=\"capablanca\"\n"); a...

Re: pre-announcement: 10x8 tourney

http://hgm.nubati.net/viewer/goths.gif I intend to do another 'Battle-of-the-Goths' tournament for 10x8 Chess (Capablanca, Gothic, Carrera, Bird, Embassy) with live broadcasting of the games. Since the previous event there are two new engines capable of playing this, (Nebiyu and Spartacus) both ran...

Re: WinBoard 4.6.pre0

We are currently preparing the release of new WinBoard versions, a bug-fix release 4.5.3 of the stable version, and a release of 4.6.0, with many new features compared to 4.5.2. In view of the substantial changes, it might be a bit early to declare 4.6 the stable branch already. But I hope we can t...

Re: Cluster Testing Pitfalls?

Exchange clipped from another thread: I think captures are just too volatile to take any chances with. .. I reduce losing captures. It isn't much of a gain, but it is a gain for me... It's a gain against the stable of opponents available when you tested the change, yes. But what if it would be a lo...
