Re: Youngest author of an original engine?

In fact the younger programmer ever is me. I started Moron at 3 years of age. It does not matter that my program not even play the first move. The fact is I started younger than anyone else. From the cradle regards Fern There is a younger programmer than you. I saw in my imagination a baby who wrot...

Re: Texel 1.05 beat Komodo 8.0!

I'm surprised Komodo played 13. Qxg7 ?! Judging from the pgn this was a book move. I think you want to look texle's 19th move. 19) ... h4 and I am out of book using HIARCS14 j book. Texel picks this move after a while, most other engines will not do it. Naum 4.6 picked it instantly. May be there ar...

Re: Texel 1.05 beat Komodo 8.0!

I'm surprised Komodo played 13. Qxg7 ?! Judging from the pgn this was a book move. Exactly. The book should be corrected because that move has no good reputation. Main lines with normal success stats are 13.a3 or 13.f3. I guess Komodo itself would never chose this move due to king safety? I really ...

Re: On Opening books in 2015

I have thought about this for a considerable amount of time theoretically, and I've also invested some time and effort by now to verify that my thoughts cannot be falsified (too) easily. This is about slow time controls and conditions similar to those in an ICGA WCCC event - sth like 3min/move on r...

Re: Leo Dijksman (WBEC) deceased

Leo was a big inspiration for computerchess.
We certainly had some fun years in what seemed the golden times
of computerchess in hindsight.
It is hard to accept he is gone now. Farewell Leo and all the best to his family.

Re: Strange moves

Yes, I think top human players are objectively around 1100 elo at most, while top engines hover somewhere around 5600 elo. Very Happy Those humans really are a pain to look at. Lyudmil Tsvetkov now this is your biggest blunder. you have posted a game between two humans that each make a 12 point blu...

Re: UCI engine EubosChess

Hello, https://github.com/cjbolt/EubosChess comes with a source code. Can anyone of you create a Java-executable (.jar-file) that runs normally on Arena / ChessGUI or WinBoard, please? Best wishes, Norbert This is no complete chess program and the whole repository was created just 12 days ago. Guen...
