Re: Pawny 0.12 is out....

Thank you, Guenther! I will correct time used before the control ends, because it seems to be a problem under winboard (propably under arena as well), apparently because of a tiny delay made by the GUI's reception of the engines output. Those "bugs" would be fixed long ago, but the problem is that ...

Re: The Third Forum Game

What about 20...Nb7 with the idea Nc5-e4? E.g. on 21.Rc6 Nc5, and if White tries 22.b4?! I would answer 22...Ne4 (23.Rxa6 Rxa6 24.Bxa6 Nxg3 25.hxg3 Bxb4; 23.Nxe4?! dxe4 24.Nd4 Bxb4 would even reactivate our Be6). Also 20...Rf8 would be possible followed by 21...Nb7, and I definitely think that afte...

Re: Pawny 0.12 is out....

Hi Mincho, Pawny 0.14 still loses on time often with White in move 40 overstepping the time limit by at least 1 millisecond.(tc 40/15) (Tested in WB with Polyglot, logs available) BTW this is with Ponder off and it did so with all previous versions, thus I wonder why you say at your site that it onl...

Re: Engines I have lost patience with or become bored with.

Why don't you just use engines which are around your strength at _full_ strength for that purpose? IMO this gives a much better match than all those dumb down tries. BTW in your original post you say that the new Junior is stronger than Stockfish. Actually it is not, by a lot and I am sure it is muc...

Re: Science &Law should be impartial = neutral without b

Just a side note, from where did you quote that above and who is 'Harald'? http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?topic_view=threads&p=307007&t=30916 Anyhow my 'scientific' side note on the above text is that it is somehow manipulated to wrongly imply something. I make no claim that the examp...

Re: Science &Law should be impartial = neutral without b

My post is not a personal attack, just pointing out the truth for all to see. I presume the reasons for joining the CCC are not personal and they should be explained in detail be the new member? I didn't see a similar article in the charter. Or you take on yourself the role of the one who knows the...

Re: Ippolito Robolito tournament/matches results?

Crafty 23.0(JA) bug

In the game below Crafty claimed a non existent mate in a drawish position near the 50 moves rule limit in a 6 piece endgame after the internal board got corrupted. The game was played with PO and with single CPU on a Q8200 with all 4men + RX vs.R and QX vs. Q 5men TBS. Edit: Online 6men TBS say it ...
