Re: Another change of heart

+1 count me as well (+1 to Tom as I prefer thread view :) All these +10 and +1 posts are pointless - just as it would be for others to respond with -10 or -1. The way to count numbers is not for dozens of posts with +1 or -1 but a poll. Better still would be to post nothing unless one actually has ...

Re: A Request to Richard Vida

Some of my friends there has suggested i compile your Critter 1.4 source. What they think would be the benefit of another binary? I feel a bit offended by people thinking I can not produce a decent binary from my sources. I think your MSVC/GCC/whatever is just as good as mine (unless you are a GCC ...

Re: HOUDINI CLUSTER vs. RYBKA CLUSTER

Robert Houdart announced that he would release an extremely powerful HOUDINI 3 this September. What do you think would be the result of a match consisting of 24 games at long time controls between HOUDINI 3 running on its maximum hardware (probably 64 CPU or more) and CLUSTER RYBKA (approximately r...

Re: CCT 14: 12 days left to register

There are at least 2 who might have objections, based on the list I just saw. You are not basing your opinion in a view of minority are you ? Look guy, I will quote from Wiki for you (Wiki seems better than me in explaining clearly and concisely): In ancient Greek political thought ochlocracy was c...

Re: Tournaments: reuse engines?

... How do other GUIs handle this? Do they always restart engine processes for every new game, even when the same engines play? That would waste a lot of time in bullet games. Do they have an option where the user can force such unloading? (So the user can select that if he is working with buggy en...

Re: Look who's number 1 at 40/2 on CEGT!

If you say 40/2 to any tournament chessplayer he will assume you mean two hours, not two minutes. None of the major testing organizations tests as fast a 40/2 minutes; the only 40/2 testing they do is two hours. So I think the caption is accurate, though I imagine you are not the only one who misun...
