Re: March Madness

It's great fun to follow this Madness.

If you decide to redo the tournament again, may I suggest that each match only features 2 (or maybe 4) games with really long time controls!

With that you would get a lot more upsets, and still very interesting games to follow.

Re: is there an annotation tool for UCI (like crafty annotat

It would be interesting to know from the GUI authors how they have implemented the "annotate" function.

Arena?
SCID?

Re: is there an annotation tool for UCI (like crafty annotat

As UCI aims to give more power to the GUI, command line auto-annotation is likely to be philosophically against UCI (though it can be done). I dont understand your philosophy issue :-) What would be the problem with a script that takes a polyglot style ini file for the engine configuration and then...

Re: Tournament manager for winboard?

Hey Fermin. I really like your TM :D Some questions to clear things up: I have an epd with 20 positions. Round Robin tournament. "Two Games" option CHECKED. Now, Should I run 20 or 40 rounds in order to exhaust the epd? (Each engine pair meeting twice per position, switching colors) In the first rou...

Re: is there an annotation tool for UCI (like crafty annotat

I was looking for a script/software to annotate a pgn file using a UCI engine with similar output to the "crafty annotate" command (html view of the game showing where the engine thinks there is a better move than played by a certain score margin). I know some of the interfaces (such as scid) can d...

Re: Tournament manager for winboard?

But I don't think that was the question. What Martin wants would really require some support from WinBoard. Like a match where each even game would start from the point where you first left the GUI book, rather than from the initial position. Perhaps when giving /lgi=-2 without having given a game ...

It can use the same opening line twice, but I have not tested enought about introducing a late opponnet.

Fermin
I'm testing it now.
How exactly do you configure it to use the same opening line twice?

Re: Tournament manager for winboard?

It would be nice if you could load/save tournament settings in your TM. Then it would be much easier making sure the the gautlet uses the same settings as the previous tournament. Maybe there already is such an option? Except for the participants, I think this is automatic in PSWBTM. At least when ...
