Why on earth did you limit SF to 3 cores?? As pointed out by everyone, it can only be surmised that negative contempt is implemented very well. The strength difference is massive. As for SF winning TCEC with such settings...you can’t win if you don’t...win.

Re: Crystal Update
Only familiar with this engine in its role as a kibitzer for the TCEC games, but it strikes me as essential for serious analysis. Has really shone in detecting draws long before even the 176 thread beast has a clue (TCEC has it running on 16 threads). Much appreciate & respect to its author/authors!

Leela seems to do a good job here (can’t post pv since I’m just using the NCM app from an iPad)

Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)
I think it's important to keep in mind that we assume Auxiliary engine must just help Lc0 tactically, and ideally it's much weaker than both Lc0 and its opponent. Many might be be tempted to use Auxiliary engine the level of SF, while their Lc0 is weaker than SF in some conditions. Even on my power...

do you mean lower ST (if you're referring to the threshold value)?

Re: Trying out the Leela Hybrid engine (NN with AB)
even w/ GTX 1080 i'm seeing +50 elo at 1+1, with a sample size caveat. T40 outperformed 32930 over 50 games (+35 elo), -70 elo to SFdev (4 cores @ 4.4ghz). same T40 network was -135 to SFDEV & -30 to 32930 (only 25 games each). using 3 threads for SFdev as aux engine, 1024MB hash, everything else de...

Re: LCZero Network question
i think 35xx+ were precursor training for t40. it was fully trained (all 4 LR drops) & in some way used to initialize T40 training. it should be much better on CPU than 256x20 nets since it's both mature & fast. t50 i don't know anything about; it's got some new parameters & uses 10000 visits instea...

Re: TCEC 14 final: Lc0 just lost 3 games with tactical..
fwiw, i find t40 passing all of these (these being the 3 starkest blunders i've found so far) & avoiding a couple other, less-losing moves i've tested, but have only analyzed the Kf1 blunder at several MNs. 1r1q1rk1/p1pbbp2/7p/8/2PPnP2/1P6/PB2B2p/RN1Q1R1K w - - 0 20 31 [bm Qd3 (??)] 20.
