Re: test position (carlsen-jakowenko 7/2/2009)

i shouldve been more clear, as from what i can tell, many engines prefer Ne7 which is not as decisive. naum is the only engine i've tried that really understands this position more or less immediately. +3.90 for Ne5, +1.06 for Ne7.

Re: Test Position

i tested this position a bit last night. rybka 3 dynamic with contempt analyze set at 20 found it in under 10 minutes (i think at d19 if i remember right), if i gave her all 4 cores w/ HT off. i doubt any engine would be faster but i will try hiarcs later today.

Re: New Shreder and Stephan endeavour from now on

yep, he mentions this in his latest interview (link is down there somewhere). looking forward to it.

i have to say it's a bit ironic that he's emphasizing the 'human' aspect of shredder since shredder's natural playing style is probably the most machine-like i know of.

Re: Interview with Stefan Meyer-Kahlen

Stefan Meyer bald one[lol]: Shredder-12 appears at the end of of July. The new engine is improved and in the various rank lists a large leap clear forward will surely make. My judgement however at least just as importantly at the new Shredder 12 the Elostufen, with which one can stop the play stren...

Re: Toga The Killer 1Y MP 4CPU is the strongest Toga....

the results he posted are quite a bit better than nothing, obviously. you can glance at them & get a fairly good idea of TK's strength (id guess about 3000+ CCRL elo). even if i'm off by a long shot, i'm going to be a lot closer than i would if we just had random results, because chess is not random...

Re: Toga The Killer 1Y MP 4CPU is the strongest Toga....

4CPU @ 3ghz, ponder off. i forget what i set the hash at now :/ i was surprised at first but the performance is actually in line with what you'd expect from a top toga engine according to ccrl 4/40. i watched the first couple games before going to bed & it looked like naum just slowly grinds TK into...
