Re: Dramatic drop in performance with LC0 after updating Cuda drivers

I was on the Nvidia website and I saw that they had Cuda drivers version 10 ... so I figured I would upgrade my Cuda drivers since I had about 1700 cuda cores. Unfortunately after upgrading, my Knps went from about 14 to 1. I then tried to uninstall the drivers and was surprised to see there was ar...

Re: Lc0 with latest test30 nets is vastly superior positionally

I don't believe more training will substantially improve tactical strength. It appears the search technique used is plain weak. I theorize that some improved search method will do more to add elo than better training can at this point. Perhaps a hybrid MCTS, AB search like Mark and Larry have tried...

Re: " End of an Era" is coming?

... This mean Leela become 99.9% best engine within a year! Beating SF will become 100%. Especially they will use more powerful hardware for Leela. But if the clock speed of CPU would increase 3-4 times (as the power of the NIDIA cards) Stockfish could keep his advantage. I think with the pressure ...

Re: " End of an Era" is coming?

Test35 (smallnet) has had its final LR drop after 250k steps. It should be interesting to see how it performs at fast TC (blitz/bullet or faster depending on hw) in a day or two. Possibly telling wrt test40 as well.

is SF contempt too low (or too high)?

i just stumbled upon this study by stefan pohl -- 2018/01/05 I repeated the 5000 games testrun of Stockfish 171206 with some different Contempt settings. Let's see, if the new contempt-algorithm of Stockfish can lower the draw-rate and/or gain some Elo. Games Completed = 5000 of 5000 (Avg game lengt...

Re: Smallnet (128x10) run1 progresses remarkably well

can't examine it myself atm but the last round of king's indian games had an interesting result (+5 =1 -0): https://lichess.org/study/Bl1fGB3U first win as white in the KGA -- [Event "Test35691+ vs SF8 5+3"] [Site "PC"] [Date "2019.01.04"] [Round "25"] [White "Lc0 test35"] [Black "Stockfish 8 1 core...

Re: Smallnet (128x10) run1 progresses remarkably well

despite self-elo declining i think the network's continuing to strengthen; first round of 64 games against SF8 @ 5'3 were tied, second Lc0 was +4 wins, & currently: 1: Lc0 test35 37.0/66 ······················· 2: Stockfish 9 10.0/22 ===10=======01=1000=== 3: Stockfish 8 1 core 9.5/22 =====0====0===...

Re: Deus X Neural Network Progress

How has the progress of the 'Deus X' neural network been going? Block sizes, Games, Current plans, Playing Style, Elo, etc ... With no selfplay games I would guess that progress may be a little slower in terms of improving strength. PS: Would be nice if you developed a website / blog. Hi Ted, Thing...
